In order to help teachers clarify the direction of project application and improve the quality of application, supported by the Division of Social Sciences, He Wei, Deputy director, professor and doctoral supervisor of National Research Centre for Language Education and National Research Centre for Slate Language Capacity from Beijing Foreign Studies University, was specially invited to give an online lecture titled "Linguistics Topic Mining and Project Application" on the evening of November 3, 2021. The lecture was held on Tencent Conference platform and presided over by Mr. Zhang Rui, Vice President of the School of Foreign Studies. A total of 102 teachers from related disciplines of the school participated in the lecture online.
With the topic of "Linguistics Topic Mining and Project Application" as the theme, Professor He Wei first put forward his personal thoughts from the perspective of topic mining, which broadened the thinking of teachers' topic selection. On the basis of further introducing how to improve the ability of selecting research perspectives, mastering research methods and grasping research innovations, Professor He Wei introduced three levels of foreign language research methods, namely methodology, research methods or research methods, specific methods and techniques, and shared the experience of research project application with teachers and students. When talking about the application of national social science projects, Professor He Wei took the specific cases of national social science projects in linguistics as examples. Focusing on the way to improve the ability of topic selection, the way to improve the ability of literature sorting, the matters to pay attention to improve the ability of project demonstration, the practice of improving the ability of logical expression, and so on. He also analyzed the main contents of the declaration, and made specific explanation on the common problems existing in the project application.
